I am regularly commissioned to produce one-off pieces to meet a customer’s particular requirements.
I start by asking the customer to describe what they have in mind and how it is going to be used, then suggest possible ways to achieve what they are looking for. I then prepare a quote and proposed timeline, and, if that is satisfactory, I prepare mock-ups of three alternative possibilities, and we discuss which one most closely meets the brief.
Once I get the go ahead, I request a 10% deposit, and then create the item.
Once it is completed, I send a picture of it to you, request the balance of the quotation, and deliver it by hand or post it to you with a tracking number.
