These stunning bowls have silver wire embedded in the cream glass resulting in reactions which have enhanced the design. Each bowl is gilded with fine silver leaf. They are pieces of art and looks wonderful with a tea light inside. The bowls in the photo are the 20cm and 13cm sizes. Each bowl comes in a lovely presentation box filled with recycled wood shavings.
The term Pate de Verre means “glass paste” in French and refers to a casting technique for making objects by using glass ground into a fine powder mixed with a binder to create a paste. The paste is brushed or tamped into a mould, dried, and fused by heating in a kiln. This process takes 2-3 days including the gilding.
Please note that due to the handmade process, each bowl will vary slightly from the photograph depending on its position in the kiln, amount of glass used, position of the silver wire etc.
